Friends of the Fells' End-of-Season Open Volunteer Day #2
Saturday, December 7th, 2019 (rain date: Sunday, December 8th)
10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Location: **Half Mile Road trail between Botume House and Tudor Barn
Our last outing in November was a great day of work in the Fells, and many of the participants were hoping to get in one more volunteer day before winter weather impedes our outdoor projects until the spring. So, by popular request, we will make the attempt!
Join us on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30 AM, for a day of trail maintenance, invasives removal, and meadow restoration work. We will guide you to the areas that need some specific TLC, and instruct participants on identifying and proper removal of a number of the invasive plant species present in this area of the Fells. Tools and work gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring along your favorite set of hand clippers or other cutting implements.
Please RSVP if interested, and to receive updates on this event. The primary work area will be on Half Mile Road, adjacent to the DCR Botume House Visitor Center in Stoneham.
[**Note: parking space is limited at Botume House. Please use the adjacent 'Boating in Boston' lot down the hill.]
This is an all ages (under-18 with parent permission) and experience-level event.
Rain date: Sunday, December 8th, 10:30 AM to 2:30PM.
