"The Lost Mill Village of the Middlesex Fells"

Sunday, Jan. 19, 3:00p-4:30p

Douglas Heath and Alison Simcox discuss their award-winning book The Lost Mill Village of Middlesex Fells, which chronicles the history of mills on Spot Pond Brook, flowing from Spot Pond in Stoneham to the Mystic River in Charlestown. In a series of engaging stories, Heath and Simcox describe how families battled over water rights and dealt with the fast-paced changes occurring in the world.

Refreshments and hot cocoa will be provided!

Things to Know Before You Go:

  • All DCR programs are free and open to the public!
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Reasonable accommodations are available upon advanced request
  • Dress for the weather and include winter gear and sunscreen for exposed skin (yes, you can get a sunburn in the winter!)
  • Only severe weather cancels outdoor programming
  • Parking is free at the Fells.  Please see program details for best parking location.
