Birding and Nature Walk along the North Reservoir with Winchester Trails

Monday, June 7, 8:00 am - 10:00 am

North Reservoir, Hillcrest Pkwy & Appalachian Rd. Intersection, Winchester

Leaders:  Julia Osborne, Tinie Noordzij, Winchester Trails Guides

We will walk along the trails on the west side of the North Reservoir, looking for summer birds, such as orioles, towhees and flycatchers. We’ll also keep an eye out for year-round resident birds such as red-breasted and white-breasted nuthatches and pileated woodpeckers. We’ll pay particular attention to the habitats and plant communities that attract birds.

The walk is for beginning birders. Please bring binoculars if you have them.

We’ll meet at the north end of the North Reservoir, next to the tennis courts across from 15 Appalachian Road. Parking is available on Hillcrest Parkway, off Highland Avenue.

Steady rain or stormy wind cancels.

IMPORTANT:  PLEASE DO NOT BE A NO-SHOW!!! Our free offerings are frequently waitlisted, so if you cannot attend, PLEASE CONTACT US so we can give your spot to another person who wants to participate.

THANK YOU!
