Sunday, June 20, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Botume House Visitor Center, 4 Woodland Rd., Stoneham, MA

Leader: Doug Heath, certified interpretive guide.

The tour will start at the Botume House, 4 Woodland Road, and will last 1.5 hours. We will learn about the great stone mansions of Wyoming Estates, including the Botume House, Tudor estate and barn (entry available), James Eaton's mansion, and William Bailey Lang's house. The route will follow the Spot Pond shoreline clockwise to Route 28 and back. Along the way we will also learn about Great Island and the 1900 conversion of Spot Pond into a reservoir for the Boston water system.

His books, Middlesex Fells and The Lost Village of Middlesex Fells may be purchased as a signed set for a special discount price of $30.

Heavy rain cancels the walk. Light rain is OK.
