Social Hike:  Take a hike in the snow! with Tom Champoux

Sunday,  January 16, 2022

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Difficulty: moderate

Appropriate for: all ages

About Tom:  Tom has been hiking in this part of the Fells for nearly 10 years, hiking with his dog 5 or 6 days a week, covering about 500 miles per year. He knows the area trails well, and keeps his eyes peeled for critters large and small. Tom loves geology and other areas of natural sciences.

Join me as we explore the eastern side of the Fells, around the reservoir, and over parts of the Cross Fells Trail and the Rock Circuit Trail. The winter is a beautiful time to walk through the Fells and see the woods from a whole new perspective. We'll traverse four cities, and even stop at the marker where Melrose, Malden, and Stoneham converge.

This one-hour hike will be a mix of moderate hike through woods and over rocky outcrops, and easy walk along wide paths.
